2013-2014 Memories

The count down is on! With only three actual days of school left, things are crazy around CDS. We are so busy editing the end of year DVD, practicing graduation presentations (which are SO cute!!), preparing for our summer programs, preparing for next year (crazy, right?), packing up classrooms, and our big job of working on our new space. It feels like yesterday was January 3rd and some how here we are about to finish another school year. I always have mixed emotions around this time of year. I know summer is exciting, but I REALLY LOVE the school year. So, instead of thinking about the end of the year right now, I'm going to share my top 10 favorite moments from the 2013-2014 school year. Here they are:

#10: Adding some awesome teachers to our staff that have become like family to me!

#9: The day Caroline and I were helping out in the two year old class and realized Shelley and Veronnica are AMAZING! We couldn't keep up with 8 two year olds and they do it everyday with 12! We were all over the place just trying to make it through the 10 minutes we were in charge!!

#8: Our staff work day where we tore out carpet, knocked down walls, and painted the day away. It was a lot of work but it was full of laughs and great conversations!

#7: Watching Michelle and Veronnica work out to Jillian Michaels after class in the four year old room!

#6: The day our kindergartener Christian read his first book! He was in my preschool class last year and I simply adore him. I LOVE that I got to see it click and share in his exciting day :)

#5: Getting the call that we would FINALLY get the other half of our building!! Happy dance day!

#4:  Watching the three year old class perform songs/dances from Frozen. SO funny! They get so into it. A few of them might have a future on Broadway!

#3: Listening to the four year old class. I really need to record them. Their conversations are the best! Like "Why did the soldier flush the toilet? It was his duty!!" Oh my, we have heard so many funny things come from that room!

#2: Watching our staff and parents pull together to make our Fall Festival a success after lots of unexpected problems. Love seeing everyone act like a family and doing what has to be done for our kiddos to have a fun time!!

#1: Building a relationship with so many incredible people. I love all the wonderful children, parents, and teachers that I get to spend time with each day. I love talking and laughing with each one of you! Thank you so much for becoming part of my world and impacting me in ways you'll never know!!!
